Office road trip to the Limestone Quarry, Superior Stone, in the north of Austin. The quarry itself is worth visiting, because it is a huge area which is placed in a beautiful landscape.
Limestone is local material, because million years ago, Texas was under water. After the stones are cut, you can see the different structures and colors and even fossilized shells. Many buildings in Austin are made out of Limestone, for example the most of the UT Austin Campus. I really like the variation from stone to stone. All in all, it was really fascinating to see behind the scenes!
