William McCommon

Intern

“An elevated experience to me is one that is above just the day to day. There is always an aspect of design that goes beyond what we are used to seeing or experiencing.” — William McCommon

Drawing inspiration from places he calls “home,” William McCommon aspires to discover the intersection between striking design and comfortable spaces through architecture.

William is currently pursuing his Master’s of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology with high honors in Architecture within the International Plan, where he was able to travel to three different countries for study abroad programs. William secured a position as a designer for CD+M Lighting Design Group in Atlanta upon graduation. After a year growing as a powerful visual communicator at CD+M, William came to Austin to serve as an intern at Sanders Architecture while attending graduate school.

William’s extensive international experience paired with his detailed digital design expertise creates a unique architectural vision that truly respects clients, collaborators and landscapes.

This native Georgian enjoys the Hope Outdoor Gallery (also referred to as Graffiti Park) at Castle Hill in Austin. He particularly appreciates how the art engages with the city, and the story of its rebirth from an anonymous piece of abandoned structure into an Austin landmark.
